When it’s sweltering in Dallas, there’s nothing quite like cooling down in a pool or taking a trip down a water slide. The great news is that we have so many different award-winning destinations in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metropolitan Area for the entire family to enjoy a day of fun in the water. At PMI Alliance, we’d like to share some of our favorites:

Six Flags Hurricane Harbor. It’s hard to beat a park with so many different ways to cool down that’s just a short drive from Dallas/Fort Worth and the surrounding areas. If you like thrill rides, try the Banzai Pipeline, a new three-story water slide tower with three different thrilling slides. You’ll want to try each one! If you love roller coasters, you’ll also want to try the Black Hole. With this ride, a two-person raft will guide you into darkness, with only tiny flickering lights to guide you through a series of twists and turns. It’s another type of ride that’s unique to Six Flags water parks. Thrill-seekers will also love Der Stuka, a seven-story ride with a huge drop fueled by gravity. There’s something for everyone at this attraction. Check out all of the different rides at this fun park! Not quite into thrill rides? Looking for something a bit more relaxing? Try Lazy River, or if you have little ones that don’t meet the age/size requirements of the thrill rides, Splashwater Beach. The beach area has no less than 40 interactive water features. Of course, you can also relax in any of the shaded areas. There are plenty.

NRH2O Family Water Park. No list of water parks in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metropolitan Area is complete without mentioning this awesome 17-acre municipal attraction in North Richland Hills, often mentioned on travel websites as one of the top water parks in the country. It’s home to the Green Extreme, a 1,100-foot water roller coaster, the largest of its kind in the nation. There are also nearly two dozen water slides for the entire family. Relax and recharge by riding the 600-foot-long lazy river. Whether you want to enjoy thrill rides or do nothing at all, this is one incredible summertime venue.

WhoaZone. Not quite a traditional water park, this Grapevine attraction features an award-winning floating obstacle course and other ways to have fun in the water. Definitely a great destination for a day of fun when it’s hot outside. Relax in the shade while the kids play for hours!

Epic Waters Indoor Waterpark. We’re including one terrific indoor water park in Grand Prairie on our list. This one is open year-round and includes a variety of slides, rides and pools. There are plenty of places to eat and relax, and this waterpark is home to the longest indoor action river in Texas. When you’ve had your fill of water-related fun, you can visit the 4,000-square-foot arcade room, enjoy a tasty meal and/or relax. If you’re thinking of planning a visit, check out the specials and events and epic deals pages before you go.
